Dublin, the capital of Ireland, which is a world capital of the high-tech industry where the world’s most important companies operate, attracts many Israelis who move to live in the city following their work. Over 2000 Israelis live in the city, most of them young adults or young families.
The Jewish community in Dublin is a community with a rich tradition and history that is very interested in the Israelis in the city connecting with it and sought to create a dedicated solution for them that would, on the one hand, satisfy the Israelis’ needs and also be a bridge to connect the communities.
Following the growing increase in anti-Semitism and anti-Zionist incidents in the city during the years 2023-2024, the organization received many requests from Israelis living in the city as well as from the Jewish community and began a process of research and development of the exact answer for them which would be a safe space for them to be Jews and proud Israelis.
Our activity center, Le Chéile, began operations in September 2024 and, like our other centers, Israelis will enjoy Friday meals, holiday meals, memorial days, as well as a host of cultural meetings, performances, workshops, and more.
In light of the uniqueness of Dublin, which centers local Israelis, local Jews and many Jewish expats, our center is a home for everyone and on holidays common events are held for all Jews in the city such as the Purim party and Israeli Independence Day celebrations.
